Great trip to see Hamlet at the RSC last night. Every bit as good as the press think.
Interesting talk to us supporters by the RSC's Artistic Director, Michael Boyd before curtain up:
"If theatre is about anything, it's about community: about people gathering together to tell and listen to stories"
Well, that's one really good reason - and it explains a lot of the abiding appeal of communities of purpose... (try thinking about these as excuses for social interaction & conversations rather than being particularly dependent on the purpose thing...)
But remember, just like the gang who assembled last night in Stratford, most of these gangs dissolve and reform daily...
